I had one where the wife was doing child care at home. As
the divorce process proceeded the husband turned his wife to
the IRS. He then refused to sign the 1040xs. How do you file
an amended return when one party refuses to sign? The folks
at the IRS said they invite both spouses to the local office
for a meeting. He said they always sign at the meeting.

My only question how come he never smelled the diapers?

one thing they most assuredly may do - and I've seen them in
action with a client who turned in ex-husband. - audit the
caller's returns to ensure there is no issue with them
before proceeding on their "tip"

Or rather, "How much did your neighbor SAY he made last year?"

Interestingly, today I had a call from a client wanting to
know how to report someone to IRS. Just not right, she
says, not paying tax and therefore her having to pay more
because of that malingerer and malefactor. (not her words
per se.)

And yes, I gave her the 1-800 number, asking her to call me
and let me know the outcome, and what questions "they" ask.

Great post, Rich...

Only you left out the last line where it says:

" How much money do you have? (Send it in) ______________"
