Default 1099-R (Do I need to file taxes on this)

My husband and I have ROTH-IRA's that we contributed to last
year. However, he had lost his job the previous year and we
continued to contribute to the IRA's for 2004 anticipating
he would return to work. He did not, therefore we pulled
what we had invested because we did not have Gross Income
for 2004. Do I need to file a return and/or pay taxes on
the money we pulled from the ROTH-IRA's???

Thanks to anyone who can answer this!
