Nope. None of my cliens, and certainly not me.

That reminds me of an incident several years ago in an
African country where a massacre had occurred. A TV
reporter (followed by his camerman) wandered through a
refugee camp calling out "Anyone here been raped and speaks
English?"

How about a Revenue Officer pulling what is left of his hair
out dealing with certain non-compliant taxpayers ;-)

To which I will add my unqualified endorsement. Too many
times the media have an ax to grind with their stories.

To the OP; please, PLEASE, try to be "fair and balanced!"

Howsomeever........! I just now noticed the date; it's
April Fools day! Now I wonder........

I would not recommend that any of my clients bear his tax
soul on national TV. Anyone who would be willing to do so
may have a motivation that could be questioned.

I would hope the viewers of PBS would have an attention span
long enough to deal with a fact based story rather than a
tear jerker emotional tale of woe.

Some of us tear our hair out over people who don't pay taxes
(either taking advantage of "complexities" or being the very
people for whom the "complexities" were provided). Without
detailed knowledge there may well be more people who escape
all, or part, of their intended taxes than there are people
caught up in unintended complexities.

Please present both sides of the problem.

thanks

Default query from the Newshour with Jim Lehrer

Help! I'm a producer for the NewsHour with Jim Lehrer,
working on a story about the complexity of the tax code (a
story that seems to have the breaking news value of
"Franco's still dead.") We are interviewing Nina Olson, the
National Taxpayer Advocate, in NY this Friday, plus "staking
out" the IRS walk-in center at the federal building in lower
Manhattan. But we still need a real eye-popping and/or
heart-tugging individual tale to make our story come alive.

David Cay Johnston of the NY Times suggested I contact you
folks. Anybody know of a taxpayer tearing his or her hair
out as April 15 approaches...who'd be willing to do so on
camera? Our preferences (in no particular order) are for
someone in New York, Boston or Washington.

Thanks in advance...
