Default deducting computer equipment

I am an employee of a consulting IT corp. I have to buy
computer equipment from time to time for my home to be able
to build a lab to practice on.

In the last year, I have purchased a powerful computer to
function as a server & also a few routers. I believe I can
deduct these as training-related expenses. Can anybody point
me to a link which explains this as an IRS rule or simply
talks about it?

Thank you
