Educational expense: Does it enhance her job skills? 2. Taxes: Not applied evenly, so no. 3. Medical: This is a vveeeerrrrryyy big stretch, has she been diagnosed as an alcoholic? Will the class help her avoid alcohol? That's as creative as I can see, but still can't find a way to make a DUI school deductible. Tell her to suck it up and be thankful she didn't kill anybody while driving in an impaired state. Gary -- E-mail to the above address is rarely read. | I'm going to be doing a friends taxes this weekend. She took court ordered DUI classes which she had to pay for. She said she read somewhere that these fees, or at least part of them, are tax deductible. We reside in Illinois. I can't seem to find any information on this. Does anyone know anything about this? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Bluto87 << -------------------------------------------------> << The Charter and the Guidelines for submitting > << messages to this newsgroup are at www.asktax.org > << -------------------------------------------------> |
