Certainly TurboTax and TaxCut can do it. << -------------------------------------------------> << The Charter and the Guidelines for submitting > << messages to this newsgroup are at www.asktax.org > << -------------------------------------------------> |

As a sole proprietorship you would use sch-c. TaxAct> payroll. I generally have an accountant do my taxes and file > jointly with my wife (who is an employee of an outside > company). Is there a tax software that will allow me to > accurately file in this manner (i.e. proprietership, married > filing jointly)? (http://www.taxact.com) has Sch-C and works very well. There is also an active independent support forum for TaxAct at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/TaxACTors/ -- To reply to me directly, remove the XXX characters from my email address. << -------------------------------------------------> << The Charter and the Guidelines for submitting > << messages to this newsgroup are at www.asktax.org > << -------------------------------------------------> |

I'm not one of the tax pros here, but a sole proprietorship> payroll. I generally have an accountant do my taxes and file > jointly with my wife (who is an employee of an outside > company). Is there a tax software that will allow me to > accurately file in this manner (i.e. proprietership, married > filing jointly)? requires at least Schedule C and Schedule SE which are included with most tax software. HOWEVER, you still need to understand certain aspects of tax law at both the Federal and state level. For example, if you do not know anything about Schedule 179 deductions and you purchased any equipment for your business, and/or do not understand your obligations regarding estimated taxes, etc. you may want to consult an accountant. -- Vic Roberts Replace xxx with vdr in e-mail address. << -------------------------------------------------> << The Charter and the Guidelines for submitting > << messages to this newsgroup are at www.asktax.org > << -------------------------------------------------> |
