I don't know what you mean by "closed." If the offer was> CAN I RE-SUBMIT A NEW COMPROMISE FOR 2002,2003 & 2004? rejected or withdrawn, sure. If the offer was accepted and you now want to change the terms, get a representative. -- Phil Marti Clarksburg, MD << -------------------------------------------------> << The Charter and the Guidelines for submitting > << messages to this newsgroup are at www.asktax.org > << -------------------------------------------------> |

seems the irs would have to rescind the 2002/2003 accepted> CAN I RE-SUBMIT A NEW COMPROMISE FOR 2002,2003 & 2004? > Moderator: Future all caps submissions will be deleted. offer in compromise to let you resubmit 2002,2003,2004 on a new offer...maybe they'd just want an offer be submitted for 2004, since 2002 & 2003 have already been accepted...maybe they'd say no to an offer in compromise for 2004 since you're in your 5 year compliance period for the 2002/2003 offer...good luck in finding an answer, the irs may be the best source for your answer... << -------------------------------------------------> << The Charter and the Guidelines for submitting > << messages to this newsgroup are at www.asktax.org > << -------------------------------------------------> |

By "closed," do you mean accepted? If so, then no. Once> CAN I RE-SUBMIT A NEW COMPROMISE FOR 2002,2003 & 2004? accepted, it's a done deal. Not even the Tax Court can reopen it. << -------------------------------------------------> << The Charter and the Guidelines for submitting > << messages to this newsgroup are at www.asktax.org > << -------------------------------------------------> |

{Closed} We need clarification?> CAN I RE-SUBMIT A NEW COMPROMISE FOR 2002,2003 & 2004? Was your compromise returned as not processable, rejected as insufficient or defaulted as in you accrued a new liability or missed a payment on the previous plan? I suspect that the fact your not quite understanding the purpose of an offer in compromise, staying current with accruing taxes is very important in a successful plan. Your next opportunity for current compliance as an individual is to file the 2004 return on time and pay as much of this liability with out jeopardizing your ability to post an estimated tax deposit for accrued taxes for the first quarter of 2005, both are due on 4/15/2005. << -------------------------------------------------> << The Charter and the Guidelines for submitting > << messages to this newsgroup are at www.asktax.org > << -------------------------------------------------> |
