If you did the work in Mass., you will owe tax to Mass, and
the tax return is due on April 15th, same as Federal. You
can find non-resident forms at the Mass. DOR website,
http://www.dor.state.ma.us/

Good luck.

Where did you do the work? If you worked in Massachusetts,
you owe Massachusetts tax. If all your work was done in New
Hampshire, you do not owe anything to Massachusetts.

I'm not anywhere even near New Hampshire or even
Taxachussetts, but I'm going out on a limb here and say yes,
you DO owe Mass.

One of my clients who's only income in that state last year
was about 5500$ in unemployement wound up owing them
about... 168$, if memory servces. Something close to that
anyway.

Default Out-of-state local tax

I have always lived and worked in the zero local income tax
state of New Hampshire. Last year I did a contract work for
a company in Massachusetts for three months and for about
$5,000. Do I have to file local tax with the MA state? Does
it have to be filed at the same time with the federal tax?

TIA
