| Yes, today Friday was my lucky day. For the last three years it's been three Fridays after mailing in a computer printed return. I hear it is one Friday faster if you efile. << -------------------------------------------------> << The Charter and the Guidelines for submitting > << messages to this newsgroup are at www.asktax.org > << -------------------------------------------------> |

Friday is your answer. Returns that reach the IRS by early Thursday get into the batch to be processed for direct deposit on the 2nd Friday from then. So if the IRS received it on Wednesday Feb 9th, then unless there is some other reason to bounce it, they will deposit the funds on February 18th. __ Art Kamlet ArtKamlet [at] AOL.com Columbus OH K2PZH << -------------------------------------------------> << The Charter and the Guidelines for submitting > << messages to this newsgroup are at www.asktax.org > << -------------------------------------------------> |

The IRS usually makes direct deposits on Fridays. The money> deposit transactions on certain days and I remember that it > held true. Can anyone help? may show up in you account a few days earlier depending on the reporting your bank uses, but it will not be available until Friday. The 8-15 day rule is due to the "cut-off" time for weekly deposits. If the return has been submitted AND accepted by the IRS by noon on Thursday the week before it should be available in the bank the following week on Friday. This is according to their schedule. I have the link at work and can get it if you need it. I have found this schedule to be right on, unless the individual taxpayer has some kind of debt indicator at the IRS that will hol,d the refund.
