Seattle area where special "regional transit authority" taxes apply, and the boundaries for that tax often bifurcate other establish sales tax zones. Fun. When I get inconsistent data from the internet I like to try to verify it with knowledgeable and helpful people. Thanks to Mr. Adams, that's what this NG is all about. If anyone in the NG is from the Boulder area, they would know the correct rates and I wouldn't have to guess. I always find it easier to make corrections before submitting a return. For 2004, the Colorado general rate was 2.9%> Colorado state: - quote - > Boulder County+City:
Boulder City is 3.41% (currently). I can't locate the 2004rate. The current Boulder County tax rate is .65%. Boulder is located in several special taxing districts which accumulate another 1.2% (which was .8% in 2004). Plus parts of Boulder have another special district tax of .5%. BTW, anyone can go to https://www.taxview.state.co.us/Quer...spx?selected=1 to check current Colorado sales tax rates. No historical information available. In the last few years, Colorado has been named as the worst state in the Union for sales tax issues. There are State level sales taxes, state level special districts impacting multiple counties (but not all), county taxes, city taxes, local taxes, etc. None of which are bounded by zip codes. -- Bruce Davidson Cantor, CPA, JD Admitted in Colorado << -------------------------------------------------> << The Charter and the Guidelines for submitting > << messages to this newsgroup are at www.asktax.org > << -------------------------------------------------> |

It took me one second to plug "sale tax rates" into a searchengine to find several sites. << -------------------------------------------------> << The Charter and the Guidelines for submitting > << messages to this newsgroup are at www.asktax.org > << -------------------------------------------------> |
