Yes, if your income is under $11,450. This has been
available for several years.

If you look at just about every piece of IRS literature on
this subject, they make it quite clear that the EITC is
available to individuals may not have a qualifying child.

For example, the instructions in the 1040EZ tell you that
you can only use that form for the EITC if you don't have a
qualifying child. The other two tax instruction booklets
tell you right in Step One of the EITC worksheet that you
don't have to have a qualifying child.

If you're between 25 and 65, and have income less that
(somewhere around) 11,000$, AND meet the other criteria,
then yes. And not just single, but married filing jointly
could be possible, too.

Yes, if one meets the income and age criteria.

Yes, you can receive the EIC with no children, if you have
income of less than $11,490 ($12,490 if MFJ).

Work through the questions starting on page 41 of Form 1040.
If you read them carefully, you can determine whether you
qualify.

It's possible, yes. Age and income are the primary limiting
factors.

Default EIC question

Does anyone know if you can take the earned income credit
without children. It seems confusing as the eic charts lists
the eic tax one column being single no children.
