Aside from the fact that there's no child "deduction," yes.> EITC, and CDC? Also, you left out the child tax credit and various education expense provisions, off the top of my head. The tax law is very pro-procreation. I would tend to answer in the negative; mainly cause I> EITC, and CDC? don't know how to take the child as a deduction. Exemption, yes of course. And that exemption results in a subtraction/deduction of 3,100$. from income. CDC? Can you possibly mean CTC -- as short for Child Tax Credit?> deduction, exemption, EITC, and CDC? Then, the answer is, "Of course! " Consider the Form 1040: Line 6 c -- A child who is a Dependent. Line 39 -- The child can qualify you as HOH, for a larger standard deduction. Line 41 -- The child earns you an exemption. Line 51 -- The child under age 17 qualifies you for the Child Tax Credit. Line 65a -- The same child can be used to qualify you for the Earned Income Credit (sometimes labeled EITC, for Earned Income Tax Credit).
