Thunderbird. It is the email/news application for Firefox browser users. It is built on the same engine as Mozilla. http://www.mozilla.org/products/thunderbird/ In addition, I also would recommend an excellent freeware application called 40tude Dialog. One nice thing about it, is that it supports multiple servers and identities, has filtering/scoring support, integrated email functionality and binary support including support for multiparts. There is no spyware, malware, etc. associated with it. http://www.40tude.com/dialog/ Personally, I find the Thunderbird product to be very user friendly with a simple interface. -- Alan http://taxtopics.net << -------------------------------------------------> << The Charter and the Guidelines for submitting > << messages to this newsgroup are at www.asktax.org > << -------------------------------------------------> |

You can't get rid of the sponsored links, but you might be> advertising that obliterates the initial posts in each > thread? able to stop them from obliterating the posts. If you are using Internet Explorer, try changing the text size. On the View menu select Text Size, then select a smaller size than what is currently selected. I normally keep mine set to Smaller and I don't have the problem. If I set it to Larger then the sponsored links overlap the posts. As the moderator said, this is a Google-induced problem. You can send feedback to Google at the following link. http://groups-beta.google.com/support/bin/request.py The other solution, as the moderator suggested, is to give up on Google Groups and access the newsgroup directly on a news server using a newsreader program. Your ISP probably provides a news server. You can find out the name of it on their web site or by calling support. One of the most popular newsreaders is Agent. That's what I use and I am very happy with it. Another popular one is Xnews. You can also use Outlook Express as a newsreader. Here are links for Agent and Xnews. http://www.forteinc.com/agent/index.php http://xnews.newsguy.com << -------------------------------------------------> << The Charter and the Guidelines for submitting > << messages to this newsgroup are at www.asktax.org > << -------------------------------------------------> |
