It is short term gains because it is not a form of earned
income.

You do know that some spam address harvesting machines look for email
addresses "...[at]...com" in the usenet posting content, right?

Either way its capital gain. Ordinary income only applies
to securities DEALERS.

There's an interesting question here of whether the OP is a
trader or merely an investor. That is, will the trading
profits be reported as capital gains or ordinary income. In
the former case, a salary may not be appropriate.

course you must pay yourself a salary.

Any S corp which has a profit, SHOULD have been paying any
working shareholder officer a salary.
