I actually *did* donate a car a few years back, and the value they gave me (without qualifications) was WAY out of line than FMV. I am sure a lot of less than honest people use that value or straight "blue book". At least I did try to check existing private sales and took into account flaws, milage, etc. when I came up with my figure - a rather small percentage of what was told to me that I could use. -- Regards - - Andrew << -------------------------------------------------> << The Charter and the Guidelines for submitting > << messages to this newsgroup are at www.asktax.org > << -------------------------------------------------> |

But the citation originally would have been helpful. In fact, http://www.usdoj.gov/usao/fls/Freixas.html is the official D.O.J. release, better than the semi-large paper! Just why can't you name the individual, since the US attorney did. Such indictments are public record. Are you implying the newspaper down in Florida (?) did something wrong?
