If you live in a snowy area, snow removal (from > roofs, driveways) can be a major expense. would just melt anyway. I spent four months once in Oberramergau, Germany, from Jan to April and the snow was never removed, but finally melted about late March. After all, people up nawth DO have chains, don't they? And roofs? Are houses that flimsey? With roofs one of the big problems is partial melting followed by refreezing - this builds up an ice dam on the edge of the roof and can lead to water backing up under the eaves and the soffit - once it does that, it gets in and you've got a roof leak. It probably is more of a problem with newer houses than with older houses because they're built to finer tolerances and with less overall material, and thus there is less extra material around to prevent the problem. << -------------------------------------------------> << The Charter and the Guidelines for submitting > << messages to this newsgroup are at www.asktax.org > << -------------------------------------------------> |

In the mountains around the Seattle area, the snow is> roofs? Are houses that flimsey? usually quite WET. So, you can end up with 3 feet of "ice" on your roof, and few houses can support that kind of weight. If paying $600 or more, I would assume "yes."> 1120H. Does HOA have to give 1099's to non-incorporated > vendors (snow, lawn, pool guy)?
