I can't think of any, nor am I particularly pursuaded that
they should withdraw the lien or accept an offer. The
$100,000 liability didn't spring full-formed from the
forehead of Zeus, so my question number one would be "what
happened to the money?"

There's a Form 911 you can file, or you can call the Taxpayer Advocate
and they'll fill it out and babysit it for you.

Default IRS Lien/Taxpayer terminally ill

I have a client who owes over $100,000. I've been working
with an RO who filed a lien last July. My client has
recently been diagnosed with terminal cancer, probably not
live a year. She needs to sell her house to move to a
different state to be cared for by her family. Her only
funds to support herself and pay for a burial policy is the
equity in her home. I've filed an ETA Offer and asked that
it be expedited, however, it still could take 6 months to a
year to process.

Any suggestions on how to get the IRS to withdraw the lien?
The client has no other means of support and must sell the
house.

Thanks.
