Thank you and everyone else that replied. I was confused as
it was not mentioned by name on line 30, in the
instructions, or pub 560 so I guess it is also known as a
"qualified plan" which is mentioned in all three areas.

For 2004, this is the correct answer.

This deduction is calculated on Keogh/SEP/Simple worksheet.
Depending on how much your income is, and how much you are
contributing you may qualify for this deduction. If so it
would be entered on Line 30, Form 1040.

As most tax questions this depends. There is a worksheet to
figure amount that you qualify for, but if you do qualify,
and are filing a schedule C then the deduction goes on Line
30 on Form 1040

I'm not sure of the line number, but it is an adjustment to
income.

Unless the line numbers are changed for 2004 returns, it
would go on Line 30 of Form 1040 (Adjustments).

Default Where do I take self-employed 401k deduction?

I am self-employed and am considering opening a
self-employed 401k for myself. Can someone tell me where on
form 1040 or other form I would enter the deduction for the
self-employed 401k for the year? Thanks!
