These SIDNs (Site ID Number) are assigned by the IRS for use at volunteer sites such as VITA, TCE and AARP/TaxAide Sites. Last year PTINs were assigned to those sites and were deemed too confusing, so this year SIDNs will replace PTINs for VITA, etc sites.
