If the shares are owned by people who are already married,
it should not begin a new holding period. In fact it should
probably have no legal effect (other than how title is held)
at all at that time.

Default Transferring Stocks From Trusts

Will transferring stock shares registration out of
individual revocable trusts to JTROS begin a new IRS holding
period regarding qualified dividends?

If it matters, we would retain the same his/her SS number
for each security as is now used in each trust.
