End of year I print out the little Notepad file and hand total the miles, write a company check to me x 3x.x cents per miles and file it away. | The limit is normally common sense. I had one client who supervised construction sites and legitimally had 50,000 miles a year on his car. I had another with 6 rentals who kept saying, "a little more than last year" until I explained that "a little more" was adding up to 2,000 miles a week - and I know where the houses were. And so would the local IRS office. Can't say he kept perfect records after that but the claim was much more reasonable.
