Thanks to Brian, Helen, and everyone else who responded to

I called the hotline listed on the Form 2587. The recording said that
you should call the hotline if you have not received the credential
letter by September 3, 2004. There are probably an unusually large
number of participants this year due to the reported changes to the
SEE in 2005 that will no longer be taking place, which would explain
the Service's slowness.

Hi to all --

I've signed up for the EA exam this September (wish me luck,
everyone -- I'm up to my eyeballs studying like I haven't
done since college 20+ years ago).

The IRS has cashed my check (a couple of weeks ago, now),
but I have had no word from them otherwise about exam
location or anything.

Is this usual? When should I start worrying that they (or
the Post Office) have misplaced my exam information?
