You don't say, but if you're filing MFJ, it certainly
doesn't make any difference whose name is on the credit card
or lease. As long as the payments are made from the
proceeds of your business, you can record them on the
Schedule C (And I think this is the critical factor, in any
event).

Setting up a separate company for her would be a needless
complication, IMO.

Default Schedule C and Wife's Credit Used

I have trucks I use for doing moving jobs and clean outs for
people. Because I didn't have good credit the trucks were
purchased under my wife's name. If I file Schedule C can I
deduct the payments my wife makes on my schedule C? I've
gotten mixed views on this. Could I make payments to her for
leasing it and would she then file a schedule C and show the
lease payments as income and deducts on her schedule C or
would I be needing to make a partnership? Or could we put
all the business in her name but would that make me an
employee. Confused.
