Legitimate business travel is a legitimate deductible
expense no matter what form of entity. As a sole
proprietor, the expense is deductible on the individuals tax
return. A partnership, S-Corporation or C-Corporation,
would deduct the expense in the appropriate place, depending
on what type of entity form is used. An LLC may be able to
file using any entity under which it decides to operate.

Default deducting travel expenses for an LLC & S-corp.

hello net tax heads -

I'm trying to choose the best form of corp. entity and one
thing I'm weighing is tax effeciency.

I'm a one man shop & i plan on being out of the country
often. its an internet software company & I may have
clients & markets outside the country to contend with.

I have a quick question about S/Corp & LLCs vs C/Corps. I
had read that a C/Corp can deduct its employee's travel
expenses that it pays for. So if the company pays the rent
& meals of it's employees while they are away, it can deduct
these amounts.

My question: can an S/Corp also deduct it's employee's
travel expenses? What about an LLC?

Thank you-
Larry
