Depends on whether it would have been non-taxable to her, of
which is impossible to determine on what you've provided.

It depends. What state are you in? Was her retirement pay
wholly or partially exempt to her? Was she under 65 at the
time of her death? What are the terms of the plan under
which her pension was paid? etc.

Your best bet is to get in touch with the agency she worked
for and ask them.

Only if your wife made non-deductible employee contributions.

The entire amount attributable to employer contributions
will be taxable income.

In either event, you should receive a 1099-R which will tell
you the amounts to report as income.

My condolences on your loss. Unless your wife paid after-tax
disability premiums, the entire amount will be taxable to
you. Check with the County's employee benefit people.

Default Disability Tax

My wife was a County employee and was required to retire on
disability due to severe arthritis. Shortly after, she
passed away and I became the beneficiary of a percentage of
her retirement pay, would any part of that be non taxable?

Thanks
Charlie
