It appears on the W-2's of National Guard and other> living quarters allowance. Client is in Iraq. reservists. It is the portion of the pay that represents active duty pay. (In our state, active duty pay is a subtraction from income, the "one weekend a month" part of the income is not.) Most I have seen in the past have Code W for the "two weeks a year" that the Guardsmen and reservists do every year. However, we have seen a lot of them this year with larger amounts because so many of them have been called up for active duty. I don't think I've ever seen that one in writing anywhere. Client should have a December LES (leave and earnings> living quarters allowance.
