You'll likely get more expert responses to this query from
others, but as a non-expert who's been in a similar
situation, I can tell you that you can easily put 20% of
your consulting business income into a simple Keogh plan
each year, without worrying about how you're set up legally.
TIAA-CREF would be a good choice for setting up such a
Keogh.

Default Small (on the side) consulting business - Any ideas for self-directed pension strategies?

I am starting a small consulting business on the side. I
also receive W-2 income from an employer. I have
contributed to their 401-K program this year.

Does anyone have any ideas on how I might be able to use the
income from the small business to do a self-directed
retirement account?

Does it matter if I operate as a sole proprietorship, an LLC
or a corpration?

Thanks for the advice!
