| You should also check the tax treaty for the country you are from. Some countries have arrangements regarding credit for one's social security system when paid into the other country's system. If the treaty has such a provision and the U.S. tax is less for the same amount of credit, you might NOT want to seek the refund.... << -------------------------------------------------> << The Charter and the Guidelines for submitting > << messages to this newsgroup are at www.asktax.org > << -------------------------------------------------> |

| OK, it is all clear, thank you One more thing btw, we are four students taht worked in the US and we are thinking of using one common account for refund purposes because it is safer and faster, moreover we all closed our accounts in order to not acumulate interest or overdraft... so is it posssible to fill in one common account for all four of us in order to get ther our taxes refunded? (it is an account in an amercna bank and it has routing number etc) later we will transfer the money to Europe Thank you << -------------------------------------------------> << The Charter and the Guidelines for submitting > << messages to this newsgroup are at www.asktax.org > << -------------------------------------------------> |
