If you are self-employed, you should know your income and exzpenses by Jan 15 so you can make an estimated payment. Unless you were waiting for a K-1, you had all informaiton and should have been able to file on Feb 11. - quote - > To no avail I had no choice but to wait. after 2 days still

You could have called the IRS (1-800-TAX-1040)> same thing > no status available or history and I didn't > efile. Now I call back Intuit and they tell me to check > another URL that says no status available. When tell Intuit > this they give me a 800 number to call that runs you around > in a circle ! This program couldn't be much worst and their customer service couldn't either. Beware if you do a Efile through TT if it doesn't work you are in for more lost time then you can even begin to imagine with little or no help from Intuit - Has anyone else experienced this problem from Turbo Tax? Again, not a problem with Intuit. Filing on April 14 is the problem. In the olden days, all news stories on TV were cameras showing the people lined up at the Post Office at 11 p.m. mailing in their returns....overwheling the system at the IRS on April 16 or 17....you did the same thing but on the computer. The tax return was filed, apparently correctly and on time. Now, if you were OWING money, you should have had a direct debit set up for April 15, or should have sent in the voucher with your payment and had it postmarked the 5th. If you were getting a refund, you could have had it a heck of a lot sooner, but it should have arrived by now. Next year, plan ahead. The TT program will be on sale in early December. The deadline will still be April 15. You CAN file your return in Ffebruary and pay in April, if you owe.... | You ran into a problem because you procrastinated and waited to file until April 14th. EVERYONE who filed that late had problems (and have problems every year) because so many people file at the end of the deadline. Three days prior, you would have had an answer within about four hours. Anything filed from the 13th on was processed eventually. Nobody who correctly transmitted prior to April 15th will be penalized. The IRS finally got the last of my own clients processed three days after the 4/15 transmission date. Cool your jets about TT. The problem with not them - it was the slamming of the IRS and every transmitter's site with last minute filers. Next year, get your return filed prior to 4/10 and you won't have this problem. Also with ProSeries on the PPR plan, for a lot less $$ (for> for the program If you bought the deluxe. You get great > service with Proseries for $895. those who only have a few returns to prepare). BTW, ProSeries/1030 is $949 for 2004, plus %750 for unlimited e-filing. This does not include state return preparation or filing. << -------------------------------------------------> << The Charter and the Guidelines for submitting > << messages to this newsgroup are at www.asktax.org > << -------------------------------------------------> |

| Did and electronic filing of my federal and state tax with TurboTax. The transmission stated and went close to the end but never told it it completed. When I tried to resend it TT wouldn't let me resend since it said I had already sent it. When I tried to check the status of the return from TT it said no status or history available and that I probally hadn't efiled. Then I discovered how bad customer support was for TT. The only real option if you don't want to pay $20 per call is by chat. When I tried chat after explaining and reexplaining the problem they told me to wait 2 days to 7 days ( Problem was I filed on the 4/14/04 ) To no avail I had no choice but to wait. after 2 days still no status and on the chat line with Intuit again. This time after persisting they directing me to a url that finally said the same thing. No status available with 2 to 7 days. After a few more days I finally check the URL again and it told me that the returns were accepted and to go to the Turbo Tax program check status to determine what I should do next. Of course when I checked the status on TT it said exactly the same thing > no status available or history and I didn't efile. Now I call back Intuit and they tell me to check another URL that says no status available. When tell Intuit this they give me a 800 number to call that runs you around in a circle ! This program couldn't be must worst and their customer service couldn't either.
