*Earned* income tax credit means you *earned* the money.
You worked for it. You said yourself you did not earn any
money. Thus no EITC.

Earned (as in Earned Income Credit) means earned (like in
exchange for working) - this means Form 1040 Line 7 Wages,
Line 12 Schedule C or Lime 18 Schedule F NET PROFITs.

Yes. Or a net profit from self-employment.

Default EIC for person on disability?

In 2003, I had wages from working of $0 - Is that what keeps
me from getting the EIC?

I received disability (SSDI) payments for the year. Capital
loss, too. I'm between 25 and 65. No children.

I'm guessing that I just wasn't reading enough into the term
EIC. Does the earned part mean I have to have actual wages
(like on a w-2)?
