Those tax programs don't always spit out the correct
addresses. I know from experience. I called the IRS, and
they recognize the problem. They also gave me the andover
adress. When I used the automated phone service for where to
file, that too says Andover, It took about an hour but I
finaly got the right address NOT Andover...

The IRS has different addresses because some (i.e. with
payments) are actually banks, where the checks get deposited
first [and immediately] and the rest gets processed later.

Your paid preparer should have told you where to file the
return and the 1040V.

The paid preparer should have given instructions for mailing it.

Default Where to file?

Very confusing instructions for "Where to file" at
"Irs.gov". I live in NY. If I search by return type "1040",
they tell you to send it to Andover Mass. However if I fill
out a 1040V w/payment AND used a paid preparer then I send
it to Hartford CT. If I don't use 1040V and send payment it
does not matter if I used a paid preparer or not, I can send
it Andover? - I don't get it.. I have a 1040, and a 1040V
and I used a paid preparer and live in NY.
