What I appreciated this year is the client who brought me a
medium sized rock in appreciation, and there it sits up
front, proudly displayed.

Oh, this "rock" is a piece of petrified wood.

Our big smile came from an accounting client who walked in
bearing a very large gift basket. For the second year in a
row.

My big smile came yesterday when I read a "thank you" note
from a client near Mobile. SHE wrote the thank you and
concluded by saying...... "I could just kiss you!" And then
signed the note : "Jeff and Beth".

I hope the "I" was JUST Beth! lol

Why? Haven't you had clients who called to remind you that
the 15th is Thursday??? We get a big smile when that
happens.

Couldn't resist underlining your comment here. Thanks, I

I'm just hoping it's a state that also requires you to
enclose a copy of the federal return. e.g. Illinois.

Default Administrative question (was: can i use my federal and h&r block's state return?)

I don't think that's quite correct. The rules here don't
allow you to crosspost the message to both groups, but
neither group forbids (or even significantly discourages)
posting the same message to both groups.

I do wish more people would crosspost to misc.legal and
us.legal; and misc.taxes, us.taxes, can.taxes, aus.taxes (if
all relevant), then individually posting to each of them,
though. It makes it easier to follow.

Any properly completed return is acceptable to use.

You may prepare your own federal return and have H&R Block
prepare your state return, yes.

If you mean filing a federal return that you prepared and a
state return that Block prepared, yes, you can do that.

See my reply to your other post.

Please post your question only once. This is a moderated
newsgroup. Posts and replies do not appear immediately
because they have to first be reviewed by the moderator. If
you need faster turnaround, try misc.taxes, which is not
moderated. (But note that the rules here do not allow you to
post the same message to both groups.)

In your other post you said you went to an accountant. Here
you are talking about H&R Block. How many sets of returns
did you have prepared? Or is this question just
hypothetical?

The question implies that the bottom lines are different.
