| I owe the IRS assessments dated 12-31-1988 & 09-30-1989. I have been living in Europe with my family; I decided yesterday to look at my credit rating, all 3 bureaus, the reports listed under "court judgments" Discharged Bankruptcy Chapter 7 10/1994 I filed for bankruptcy in October 1994 My questions are 1. Can I take advantage of the statute of limitation, 10 years I believe, if necessary? 2. I was told by an attorney before my filing for bankruptcy that taxes were not dischargeable is that true? 3. How long does the bankruptcy and related stay on my report? 4. How reliable are all those reports from Equifax,Experian & TransUnion? I have a hard time to believe that the IRS is so kind!
