Is my understanding correct? child) who turned 14 on January 1, 1992. The child had sufficient investment income that he would have been subject to the kiddie tax for 1991 had he been under age 14 as of January 1, 1992. Of course, he still had to file but none of his investment income was taxed at kiddie tax rates. | If my daughter turns 14 in November of 2004, and receives income in April of 2004, my reading of Pub 929 indicates that because she will be 14 at the end of the tax year, then the income is not subject to the Kiddie Tax even though she was actually 13 when she received the income.
