With a pen! (I'm getting punchy!)

How old is the minor? If he is old enough to actually sign
his name, let him sign the return, if not sign it and notate
"parent of minor child"

Back when my children were too young to sign their returns,
I signed for them as follows:

child's name (minor son or daughter) by
my name (father)

Example:

John Junior (minor son) by
John Senior (father)

For Fed, see page 16 of Publication 17.

How old is the son? Is he able to sign his own return? If
so, let him sign it. If not, I usually have my clients sign
this way: Frank Doe/John Doe/Father

If he is able to sign his name, he can sign it himself.
Otherwise: "Charles Smith, by John Smith, parent for minor
child."

Form 1040 Instructions, page 58:
If your child cannot sign the return, either parent may sign
the child's name in the space provided. Then, add "By (your
signature), parent for minor child."

Assuming he can write and sign his name, have him sign it.
