AS you know, that don't make a bit of sense.

The payor is the rental company and you are the payee. Pure
and simple. No need to get a correction, but do call it to
their attention so they can update their own office
procedures.

No, it's not right, and no, you don't need a corrected copy.
The 1099 is for IRS's information, not yours.

Default 1099-MISC Payer Entry

We own a home in another state and use the services of a
rental management company. Unlike previous years, the
1099-MISC we received this year for rental income lists me
as the Payer as well as the Recipient. Is this an
acceptable practice, or should I have the rental management
company issued a corrected copy?
