You are right; the Intuit support person was wrong (not just> trying to determine which version of TurboTax or Taxcut she > should use. Any of the personal TruboTax versions will handle the K-1 that your friend received: Basic, Deluxe, or Premier. TaxCut Standard will handle the K-1. I would use it ratherthan TT; although TT will handle it also. -- To reply to me directly, remove the XXX characters from my email address. << -------------------------------------------------> << The Charter and the Guidelines for submitting > << messages to this newsgroup are at www.asktax.org > << -------------------------------------------------> |

| I am trying to assist a friend with her taxes and we are trying to determine which version of TurboTax or Taxcut she should use. This year she has received a K-1 from an investment club and was unsure which software (& version) to use. I chatted with Intuit on line, but they told me to buy TT Business, which I believe is for the Partnership administrator, not the recipients of the K-1's. I am not sure that their recommendation is the most economical. Can anyone recommend the right version of TT and/or Taxcut? Thanks. << -------------------------------------------------> << The Charter and the Guidelines for submitting > << messages to this newsgroup are at www.asktax.org > << -------------------------------------------------> |
