I had the same surgery done for the same reason and deducted
the expense. I heard nothing from IRS about it.

Default Reconstructive surgery- Medical deduction???

I have lost 150 plus pounds and have been recommended by the
Dr. to have excess skin removed because of skin rashes, etc.
(Belly, arms, Breasts, thighs). Insurance will not pay as
it is a specific exclusion and am considering going out of
the country for this. Can I claim this reconstructive
surgery as a medical deduction?

Can the air fare, motel etc be claimed and what about
expenses of a second person so that I can have some help
while waiting for the sutures to come out and the ok to
travel?

What documentation would I need to have surgery be an IRS
deduction? Thanks for all of your help!
