But of course!

However, remember that Roth contributions aren't even shown
on the return.

Several times I've shown clients the calculation on form
8880 which illustrate how their IRA contribution will be
subsidized by Uncle Sam by 10 - 50%, and they're so
impressed, they decide to use their big old tax refund to
actually fund the IRA before 4/15.

The RIC is one of the best things since sliced bread; the
other being the Roth IRA.
