Same problem here. I imported my son's 2002 tax return that
was prepared with TC 2002 into TC 2003. It imported some
miscellaneous income he received in 2002 via 1099-MISC that
was not related to Schedule C activity. TC would not allow
me to remove the income from the 2003 return in any normal
manner. It would allow me to override the entry, but still
insisted the return included a 1099-MISC (with $0). Since
his return was so simple I just started a new one.

In fact, it imported some of it so well that it applies it
to this year's taxes and there's nothing I can do to prevent
that. (Going to the "comes from" line in Help shows a 0,
but $400 is still shown in the form that line gets copied
to.)

There are other alternatives. Try TaxAct, it offers good
value. They're at www.taxact.com

In 14 years of Taxcut, never had a problem that wasn't
corrected by downloading the latest update.

The only problem I have had it that once I fill a form out
it won't let me change it. (I am thinking specifically of
the IRA form). I have to actually delete the form, which is
a bit spooky because you don't know what it might link to.

It imported last year's info just fine.

Fiasco is a good description of my experience. I ordered
and paid for TaxCut New York in December (to do my mother's
taxes -- Indiana is too trivial for software).

I have never been notified by email of availability

The rebate check for the state cost arrived torn to
pieces, uncashable, and has not yet been replaced

Going to Check Order Status on the Web site says
order complete (and does mention state), though I
have not downloaded the state and don't have it.

I'd call that a fiasco, and a lost customer: back to
TurboTax after a 2-year interlude.

Default TAX CUT FIASCO

I've had meg problems with TaxCut Deluxe. First, the final
version isn't ready yet. The state version won't be ready
until March!! Down loading the backup disk, after the
original version crashed, required two pages of instruction
(I will say that their tech department is helpful). If you
save a copy accidently, it erases all previous data.

Downloading from the previous year can result in a loss of
your current work. I had a H&R Block rep tell me recently
she would never use TaxCut. Am I the only one having
problems with this fiasco?
