Read my entry in the Quicken forum (I am just asking a> TT for 2001. (But not in 2002 because of their product > activation.) How do I find out more about this problem so I > can determine if I should file an ammended return for 2001? > I think $15,000 is far too small a fine for any company the > size of Intuit. As I said in the Quicken forum, I usually at least check to see if form's bottom line amounts are always carried over as appropriate to 1040 or IT201 - I am really upset at myself for missing this one.... I think $15,000 is far too small a fine for any company the size of Intuit. This is pocket change to them and will not have any impact on their future behavior. -- Vic Roberts << -------------------------------------------------> << The Charter and the Guidelines for submitting > << messages to this newsgroup are at www.asktax.org > << -------------------------------------------------> |

| This was originally posted in the Quicken forum - but I think it also should be posted here for obvious reasons..... TurboTax for NY state had a mistake in the software concerning college tuition credit which could cost NY tax payers $200.00 of additional tax. Intuit will pay $15,000 to NY state for costs of the problem. Intuit is supposed to help NY state filers to amend their respective taxes for FY01 and FY02. http://www.newsday.com/news/local/wi...-regional-wire << -------------------------------------------------> << The Charter and the Guidelines for submitting > << messages to this newsgroup are at www.asktax.org > << -------------------------------------------------> |
