It should say " your earnings record at a glance". What
does that say for those years?

Are you also saying that you had no earnings from
self-employment that would have been taxable for Social
Security and Medicare taxes? Did you get refunds of
everything you sent in on those quarterly payments? If so,
then you are the only one who can tell what happened to that
money.

It's not a question of money, instead why didn't the
wages/salary/earnings post at Social security?

Take copies of those returns with W2 forms to local office
of social security and seek their help.

Call the SSA at 1-800-772-1213 (7 AM to 7 PM all time
zones). This is the number for correcting your SSA record of
earnings. You're going to need your W-2s and/or a copy of
your tax return reflecting SE taxes paid.

Social Security will only go back 3 years, 3 months and 15
days to credit your work history. April 15 1975 minus 3
years, 3 months and 15 days is Dec 31 1971. So tax years
ending before that you get to pay the tax due, but don't get
any credits toward your work history.

It went into the general fund.

The deadline for reporting self-employment income from 1970
for the purpose of receiving Social Security credit was
4/15/1974. (The earlier years were earlier.) This
limitation is in Title 42 of the United States Code. You
are, in the vernacular, SOL.

Default What happened to my SE taxes

I filed 1968 through 1974 in April 1975. There were no
taxes due because I had made quarterly payments all along.
I just received a Social Security notice and it shows no
contributions for 1968, 1969, and 1970. What happened to
that money?
