| I have not filed taxes for the past 3 years, and I just received a notice from the IRS stating they have not received my 2000 return, and that they would like me to file it if I have I hadn't already done so. Needless to say, I want to get current with everything and put this mess behind me, however, my online research has made me feel quite nervous about going with the "tax solution" websites that I have come across. Without mentioning any names, it appears they all promise results, and then proceed to slam the other sites that promise the same thing. Frankly, they all make me nervous. I am concerned (perhaps incorrectly) that since this is the busy season for tax professionals, I will not get attentive service from a local EA or CPA. Since I assume a very serious clock is ticking with the IRS regarding my returns, I am looking to speak to someone immediately about my situation. How do I find an honest firm or individual to help on such short notice? I fear I could easily make matters worse by making the wrong choice. Any guidance is much appreciated. Kind regards, David << -------------------------------------------------> << The Charter and the Guidelines for submitting > << messages to this newsgroup are at www.asktax.org > << -------------------------------------------------> |
