Default Refinanced to purchase secon home and effect on AMT

We refinanced our main home to help purchase a second home
(vacation, not rental). Turbo Tax asked if the excess
amount of the refinance went back into the "home". Since the
second home is deductable and not investment can I say yes?
Does it really matter? How does this effect AMT either way?

Thanks
