2002 was due 4/15/2003. You have 3 years from that date to
AMEND your 2002 return. You can NOT claim the move on
2003's return.

If eligible then, you could amend your 2002 return to claim
them. You have until April 2006.

Get a Form 1040X from http://www.irs.gov and complete it for
the year 2002. This form will allow you to amend that return
to get the moving expenses into it. That cost may not
legally be included on your 2003 return.

No and no. You can't claim them on your 2003 return (unless
there was employer reimbursement) but you can amend your
2002 return on Form 1040X.

Default Moving expenses for 2002

Hi all,

I don't know if there's any chance I can do this, but I
figured I'd ask:

We forgot to claim my moving expenses from the UK to the US
as a deduction for the 2002 return. I still have the
receipts - can I now claim them on the 2003 return or is it
too late?

Kind regards,

Eiolf
