It's the same form that full-year residents use. If she had any NJ-source income after she became a CO resident, she may also have to file form NJ-1040NR as a part-year non-resident. You might want to get an NJ-1040NR package so you can read the instructions about what is considered NJ-source income. << -------------------------------------------------> << The Charter and the Guidelines for submitting > << messages to this newsgroup are at www.asktax.org > << -------------------------------------------------> |

If you go to this site, www.taxadmin.org, you will find links to forms for all states. Look for the form that is used for part-year residents. | I'm an Alabama resident and I need to file tax returns for my mother in law. She was a full-time resident of NJ for sixty years until 11/03 when she moved to an assisted living facility in CO where she is now a full time resident. What tax returns do I file for NJ (part-year? non-resident?) and CO (resident?, part-year? ) If you could kindly tell me the proper Form numbers to use for NJ and CO, then I will be able to request those forms properly. Thanks for any help. -- To reply to me directly, remove the XXX characters from my email address. << -------------------------------------------------> << The Charter and the Guidelines for submitting > << messages to this newsgroup are at www.asktax.org > << -------------------------------------------------> |
