Go to http://www.irs.gov/taxpros/index.html or better yet
go to http://www.irs.gov/formspubs/lists/0,,id=97401,00.html

Download Form SS4 and fill it out. It is near the top of
the list of forms. It is a fill-in form you can do on-line,
then print it out and send it to the IRS.

Then go to http://www.twc.state.tx.us/ Click on Businesses
and employers and get your State Unemployment tax form if
you are going to have any employees.

If you are selling any jewelry in Texas, call the State
Comptroller's District office nearest you and get an
application for a sales tax permit. You may also may need
some other permits etc from the State Comptroller such as a
store tax license.

Default Opening a New Online Business in Texas

Hey,

I am opening a new online business in TX. It will be a sole
proprietorship. The business will be selling jewelry. What
forms do I need to file? How do I get a Tax ID?

Thanks a lot,
Elliot
