Go to the current EA directory from NAEA. They have> states? I am approved for PA. contained therin a copy of my article which spells out which states require more than the federal EFIN to efile with them. The states which have specific registration requirements will reject an efiled return until you get straight with them. The article was in the January 2002 issue of their magazine. I am approved for PA. > Thanks for your help. > Kate Botella, EA in PA Seriously though, here I am automatically approved for both Georgia and Florida, wherease if I want to file my one Illinois return electronically I'll have to get approved by Springfiled. Springfield. I've heard that one has to seek approval from both NY and MA. Others I just don't know. The various state revenue departments are inconsistent on> states? I am approved for PA. this point--so the answer is that you *will* need to be approved by certain states, while others will simply accept you because the IRS does. I would suggest you check out the websites for the state revenue departments where it appears likely you will file. -- Ed Zollars, CPA Phoenix, Arizona << -------------------------------------------------> << The Charter and the Guidelines for submitting > << messages to this newsgroup are at www.asktax.org > << -------------------------------------------------> |
