Thanks for the suggestion, but I had the same Zone Alarm
settings when using the cable modem, which would not
connect, and a dial-up connection that did work. In an
earlier message I reported that the problem was fixed when I
reset my cable modem, for reasons I still do not understand.

My password had expired also, but I got a new PIN in less
than a minute, and that is all I need to do my W-2 and W-3.

I could not get to that either. I found today that if I
connected to my ISP using a dial-up connection instead of
the cable modem connection that I could get to both
www.ssa.gov and www.socialsecurity.gov. I then contacted my
ISP and they told me to reset the cable modem ... which
fixed the problem, but I still don't understand why.

Thanks (and to Herb also.) For some reason I cannot connect
this year using my cable modem service, but I just used the
dial-up connection to the same ISP with the same computer
and browser and was connected. Either the site doesn't like
the router on my cable modem connection or the DNS table
used by my cable modem provider is messed up.

Are you running a firewall, like ZoneAlarm? If so, you may
have your firewall settings too restrictive for www.sss.gov.
Assuming ZoneAlarm, under Privacy-> Options-> Mobile Code see
if you are blocking mime embedded objects.

Note: It is good to be very restrictive. When you are
comfortable with a site, you can relax restrictions on a
site by site basis.

Victor, I was on the site for about 2 hours today <01/20> .
I had to call them about something and they said that their
computers were out.

I did try early in the month, but found out my password had
expired. So I got another one, tried it, but found out my
login failed.

So, succintly put, to hell with them.

Nothing like paper you know. (grin

Last year I prepared my W-2's and W-3 forms on-line at
www.ssa.gov/employer. But I have been unable to get on
www.ssa.gov for the past two days. Does anyone know of the
site is down, busy or has been changed?
