You can sign and you must send a copy of the POA.

Default Power of Attorney Questions

My mother recently entered a nursing home. I have power of
attorney to handle her affairs including taxes. Must she
sign her tax forms? Can I sign for her? If I sign for her
do I include a copy of the Power of attorney? Does NY have
same rules in this as the federal?

Thanks in advance for your help
